Brian's Story
Life
I was born in the middle of a Midwestern middle-class family. Upon Graduation Dad gave me the choices of going into collage, the Military, paying him rent or getting the hell out. I chose door number four but after a few years of seeing what life could be for me without much education I decided to leave this planet and go to art school. (How fortunate to have so many choices) As for making a living, over the years I've had the standard collection of nothing jobs plus a few that might have led to something but for some reason I've never seemed to let them... until now, (did I just say that? oh oh) I've been a laborer, an assistant, an apprentice, a creator, a teacher... and I'm still all of those things (I guess) but since I moved here to Hawaii after a five and a half year experience in Japan, I find myself where I never thought I'd be....Expand for more
Running a day center for developmentally disabled adults in Waialua (near Haleiwa on the north shore of Oahu) and spending all of my free time (when not at the beach) writing my little folk songs. The adventure continues, eh? Does it ever.
And on it goes... since the above, I have had a difficult end to the day center job, had difficult and life changing money troubles and thus... I got a new job (Driving paratransit for the city and county) moved into town (Honolulu) down-sized my life/expences by getting rid of my car and moving into a very cheap living situation (I share a one bedroom apartment with a college student... I live in the kitchen/living room) and now I focus my main energy on seeing how far I can go with the music thing... I will thus be coming out with my first professionally produced CD some time around the end of the year.
